Conducting thorough Consultations

The consultation process is one of the most important parts of the treatment. This must be done before the procedure takes place. It is always best to provide consultations in person face to face, but if this isn’t possible there are other options such as video calls (such as face time, skype) would be the next best thing.

During the consultation, the client is required to fill out a consultation form that discloses and medical history, the client is afforded the opportunity to discuss any questions about the procedure, such as what the process is, which styles are available and how it would look on them.

The artist can analyze the client’s treatment area and determine how long the procedure would take, understand the style and the personality of the client and most important give a confident presence to the client making them feel as though they are in great hands and are being taken care of a professional. This is an opportunity to not only build trust with the client but meet the client, manage expectations and also provide a patch test to ensure the client is not allergic to any of the products being used.  The consultation is what really determines whether or not you secure that appointment. Keep in mind your client will judge you in 30 seconds of meeting you so make sure you look the part and treat your client professionally.

Make the effort to understand your client, earn their trust, build their confidence in you, answer as many questions as possible, be informative and provide quality photos of recent work you have done(before and after’s).

What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micro pigmentation is a permanent cosmetic procedure that is based on a tattoo technique to simulate a natural hairline. The treatment is intended for both males and females. It is highly successful in treating thinning hair, bald spots, alopecia or head scars.

This together with its ability to create a well-drawn hairline, has made scalp micro pigmentation one of the most prominent cosmetic hair treatments in the world.

Who is this treatment for?

Clients who wear hair pieces; It is important to inform your client that they are not to wear any hair pieces for 14 days post-treatment to enable the skin to breathe and heal properly. This includes wigs, laced fronts and other hair systems worn by women because this treatment is very common in treating thinning edges on women’s hairlines.

Clients with hair transplant scars; Scar tissue is the trickiest skin to work on. The scar tissue is very absorbent and may require extra sessions to obtain the final result. Treat this area with caution and be sure to find out as much about the scar as you can, such as how old is the scar? You should give the ski 7-10 days for any redness and swelling to heal and then work on it again with more layers to ensure that the colour will stay. Please have your client consult with their treating doctor for clients who have hair transplant scars and get clearance to do the treatment.

If clients have had ink removal treatments to the area you will need to wait 30 days prior to doing their treatment as the skin needs sufficient healing time to avoid creating more trauma and further scar tissue from forming. Please ensure that the removal treatment is complete prior to going ahead with the treatment process.
